SharePoint 2010 to Microsoft 365 Migration for an Electronics Supplier
The client supplies new and used industrial electrical and electronic control devices, and wanted to move its SharePoint 2010 site to Microsoft 365 with minimal disruption and no loss of data. We handled the migration, including workflows, users and email.

Solution
- A migration plan covered roughly 12 to 15 lists and document libraries.
- We rebuilt five to six workflows from SharePoint 2010 in Microsoft 365 and carried over the existing security policies when users were migrated.
- Mailbox data moved to Exchange Online, with DNS updates and setup of Outlook Web Access and Exchange ActiveSync for mobile devices.
- We used ShareGate, AvePoint and Metalogix Content Matrix for the migration and data protection, and tested Microsoft 365 functions afterward.
- End users received documentation and training, including lunch-and-learn and web-based sessions.
Results
- The cutover was scheduled over a weekend to keep downtime minimal.
- Data was migrated completely, including Active Directory users.
- Staff received documentation and training before and after the move.
