The client runs a B2B marketplace where agencies promote their services and businesses compare them through ranked lists. The platform was outdated, so we rebuilt it as a secure, scalable system over 26 weeks and an estimated 2,400 hours.

Challenge

  • Keep the rankings credible by showing only the top 50 agencies in each category.
  • Offer flexible plans, such as freemium, sponsored and featured listings, with billing that administrators can change.
  • Replace an outdated platform without disrupting live services.
  • Give agencies, clients and administrators separate workflows, and leave room for new features without another rebuild.

Solution

  • We designed search and ranking logic that returns accurate top-50 results in each category.
  • Stripe handles subscriptions and billing, and administrators can create or change plans themselves.
  • The platform was rebuilt on .NET Core with AngularJS and a SQL database, hosted on AWS and Azure with CI/CD pipelines. Thousands of agency profiles, client accounts and project records were migrated.
  • Separate portals serve admins, agencies and clients. Agencies manage their profiles, portfolios, certifications and awards, and admins get dashboards and analytics.
  • A modular design with a CMS for articles, news and spotlight stories leaves room for phase II work: review imports, achievement badges, lead marketplace features and video testimonials.

Results

  • Dashboards show admins, agencies and clients their reviews, leads and usage.
  • Subscription plans are configurable without a code change.
  • Hosting, maintenance, monitoring and support continue on block-hour contracts.
